The St Georges Day Paintathon

Swindon artist and member of the Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown Mark Amis, has created an exciting and original fine art painting depicting the tale of St George and the Dragon at the Woodman Inn at Fernham. The Inn is just a few miles from where the famous St George and the Dragon legend began. The non-stop 24 hour charity "Paintathon"  started on Tuesday 22nd finished on Wednesday 23rd April with a gala dinner and the unveiling of the painting by Mark and his wife.

The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown for the benefit of the charity 'Help for Heroes' to support British Service Personnel injured in recent conflicts.  

The painting will be sold by auction within the next thirty days and with a limited number of prints the Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown and Mark Amis hope to raise £5,000 for the charity Help for Heroes.
