Walkley Midnight Walk Presentaion Evening 2008

The presentation evening for the Walkley Midnight Walk was held at the True Heart Pub, Bishopstone on Friday 25th July on a warm sunny summer evening, a distinct contrast to the night of the walk!. The event was held in a marguee in the pub's garden, with a barbeque and the band Mojo providing the music. The band kindly supplied by an anonomus resident of the village and a huge 'thank you' from the club and walkers for this kind jesture.

The Mayor of Swindon Steve Wakefield attended and together with  Bob Barrett President of the Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown presented cheques to the walkers and their chosen charities.  A total of £18,035.45 was rasied by the walkers for many charities and cheques

Two of the largest sums to be presented on the evening were to the Chernobyl Childrens Life Line a cheque of £4,837 and the Swindon MS Therapy Centre a cheque of £6,508!
